Background Interview

Background

What motivated you to start creating content and writing?

I launched CryptoMegaphone after noticing that many of the developments shaping the future of digital assets—regulation, market structure, and institutional infrastructure—often received far less attention than price movements and speculation.

I believed there was room for a publication that approached the industry from a different perspective: One that prioritized facts, primary sources, and long-term developments over headlines driven by short-term market sentiment.

My goal was not simply to create another crypto news website but to build a publication that helps readers better understand how policy decisions, regulatory frameworks, and market infrastructure influence the evolution of digital assets. I believe journalism has an important role to play in providing clarity in an industry that is constantly changing.

Who is your target reader, and has that vision changed since you first launched?

My target audience consists of readers who value substance over noise. These include lawyers, policymakers, compliance professionals, researchers, institutional market participants, and anyone interested in understanding the regulatory and structural developments shaping the digital asset ecosystem.

When I first launched CryptoMegaphone, I envisioned a broader audience. Over time, however, I realized that the publication's greatest strength lies in serving readers who are looking for reliable, source-driven reporting rather than speculation. That realization has helped define both my editorial priorities and long-term vision.

Choosing topics

How do you decide which topics are truly worth covering and which ones are better left to someone else?

I focus on developments that are likely to have lasting significance. Regulatory actions, legislation, enforcement cases, market infrastructure initiatives, and institutional adoption often have implications that extend far beyond a single news cycle.

At the same time, I don't believe every story needs to be covered by every publication. There are many organizations that do an excellent job covering markets, prices, and trends. I prefer to concentrate on areas where I believe CryptoMegaphone can provide unique value and maintain a consistently high standard of accuracy.

In an age of information overload, choosing what not to cover is just as important as deciding what deserves attention.

Challenges and defining success

What are the biggest challenges you believe the publishing industry is facing right now?

The publishing landscape has become increasingly competitive, and discoverability remains one of the biggest challenges facing independent media. Producing quality journalism is difficult but ensuring that readers actually find it can be equally challenging.

Artificial intelligence is also transforming the industry. While it offers tremendous opportunities, it raises important questions about attribution, trust, and the sustainability of original reporting.

I believe the future will favor publications that prioritize expertise, transparency, and credibility. As information becomes more abundant, trust becomes more valuable.

What does success look like for your publication over the next three years, and how are you working toward it?

For me, success is not defined solely by page views or audience size. I would like CryptoMegaphone to become a trusted source for digital asset regulation, market infrastructure, and institutional developments.

Over the next three years, I hope to expand original reporting, publish more interviews with leading experts, and continue building a reputation for factual, source-driven journalism. I also see opportunities to broaden our international reach through multilingual content and deeper coverage of regulatory developments around the world.

Ultimately, success means earning the trust of readers and becoming a publication that people turn to when they want clarity rather than noise.

How has artificial intelligence changed the way you work, and do you see it more as a threat or as an opportunity?

I see artificial intelligence primarily as an opportunity. It has improved research, organization, and editorial workflows, allowing independent publishers to operate more efficiently than ever before.

At the same time, I don't believe technology replaces expertise, judgment, or editorial responsibility. If anything, the rise of AI makes trust even more important.

As AI-generated content becomes increasingly widespread, readers will place greater value on accuracy, transparency, and credibility. Technology can accelerate workflows, but trust remains fundamentally human. I believe the publishers that successfully combine technological innovation with strong editorial standards will be best positioned to succeed.

Choosing syndication

What was it that led you to decide to partner with Newstex, and what value has that relationship brought to your publication?

One of the reasons I chose to work with Newstex was its long-standing experience in content licensing and syndication. For independent publishers, distribution can be just as challenging as content creation, and reaching audiences beyond one's own platform is increasingly important.

Content syndication represents an additional way to extend the reach of original journalism and diversify distribution channels. As the media landscape continues to evolve, I believe licensing and syndication can play an important role in building sustainable publishing models.

For independent publications in particular, having multiple avenues through which quality journalism can reach readers is increasingly valuable.
