Loz James of Content Champion reached out to content experts and marketing experts around the world to create the ultimate list of content marketing book recommendations. Sixty experts shared their favorites with him, and you can follow the preceding link to see the entire list, including comments from each expert explaining why they chose specific books. The list is filled with tactical and strategic content marketing books (including my book, Content Marketing for Dummies and Newstex Advisory Board Member David Meerman Scott's The New Rules of Marketing and PR and Newsjacking). You'll also find books about writing, blogging, social media, branding, link building, and a variety of other books that aren't specifically about content marketing but can help you become a better content publisher, content promoter, and content marketer. You'll find a lot of the books you'd expect on the list, but scroll through and you'll find some great resources that you're probably not already aware of. For example, when Loz asked me to provide my recommendations for the list, I tried to think outside-the-box. Since brand storytelling is such a critical part of content marketing today, I recommended three books that teach readers how to craft better stories by learning the fundamentals of fiction writing. Here are the books I recommended (all part of the Write Great Fiction series published by Writer's Digest), which you can find on Loz's list:

There are two more books in the series that are also great. If you're really serious about learning the fundamentals of developing and telling stories, add these two books to your shopping list:

David Meerman Scott recommended a great content marketing book, Content Rules by Ann Handley and C.C. Chapman. David wrote the forward for that book, and it's an excellent resource for anyone who wants to learn more about content marketing.Speaking of writing forwards for books, Brian Clark of Copyblogger wrote the forward for my book, Kick-ass Copywriting in 10 Easy Steps, and is one of the online resources included in Loz's list of the best digital content marketing resources. I'd add another website to the list that can help you learn about content marketing: The Content Marketing Institute Blog which is led by Joe Pulizzi, who offered his recommendations on Loz's list (Minecraft: The Unlikely Tale of Markus "Notch" Persson and the Game that Changed Everything by Daniel Goldberg and Linus Larsso) and whose own books were recommended by several other experts on Loz's list (Epic Content Marketing, Managing Content Marketing, and Get Content Get Customers). What books and resources about content marketing do you recommend?Image: pear83
