Since more than 2 million researchers have set up ORCID profiles, chances are pretty good that you're at least somewhat familiar with ORCID. Scholars around the world have set up ORCID profiles containing information, and/or links to, their publications, research activities, grants, awards, and other information pertinent to their scholarly work and professional connections.

On Wednesday, July 13, the United States Senate confirmed the appointment of Dr. Carla D. Hayden as the 14th Librarian of Congress. Dr. Hayden is both the first woman and the first African-American to be appointed to the position.
